Welcome to the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Employment Verification System

This secure service is used for mortgage applications, apartment leases, current or previous D.C. Public Schools work experience, loan applications, Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) and Teacher Loan Forgiveness applications, or any application that requires proof of employment and/or income verification for current or former D.C. Public Schools employees*.  It is quick, accurate, free and best of all, it's easy!

Online verification requests will be processed and emailed directly to the requestor within 7-10 business days from the original submission date (weekend, federal/government observed holidays, and central office inclement weather closures are not included as a business day). Please allow at least 8 business days before making status inquires.

D.C. Public Schools does not accept nor complete verification of employment requests outside of this online system via email, fax, postal mail, interoffice mail, or hand-delivered

In order to process your request, we will need the following information:

• The employee's full name while employed with D.C. Public Schools.
• The employee's Social Security Number
• The employee's DCPS PeopleSoft employee ID number (If employed by DCPS after January 1, 2009). If you do not know the PeopleSoft employee ID number, please use the social security number in its place
• The employee's and/or your current email address and contact information. Please ensure that the email address and contact information within your request is accurate and complete
• If you or your business/organization requires the employment verification to be completed on a company or specialized form, please upload through the online system under requester information. D.C. Public Schools does not complete or process documents submitted outside of this online system
• Vendors/Companies/Employers/Organizations ONLY-  looking to verify employment on former or current employees will require a signed  Authorization to Release Form. If the company does not have an Authorization to Release Form**, you may use the DCPS Authorization to Release Form.  Click here DCPS Authorization to Release Form to download a sample form, then attach the completed and signed document by the employee in question, to be attached through the next step of the online request process. You do not need to complete an authorization to release if you are submitting an online application for yourself
• When you are ready --- Please click on the blue request an employment verification link below. Once you complete your request,  click the green save & close button at the top or bottom of the application to submit your request.  Upon successful submission, you will automatically receive a confirmation email along with a 5-digit request number. Once DCPS Employee Services has completed your request, the verification will be sent to the email address provided

* DC Public Schools (DCPS) is not authorized to complete verification of employment requests for any DC Government agency outside of DCPS. Please consult with the appropriate agency for information on how to request a verification of employment. If you are requesting a VOE for a Motor Vehicle Operator/Bus Driver or Bus Attendant, please contact the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) - Student Transportation services for more information.
