Using Data to Develop High-quality IEPs is an online course comprised of four online modules with assignments, each focusing on a different aspect of the IEP development process.  This online professional development series is focused on building special educators’ capacity to develop high-quality individual education programs (IEPs).

Through engagement in this series, participants will learn and understand:

•    Legal requirements pertaining to IEP development and provision of special education services
•    How to use data to develop individualized, impactful, and actionable IEPs

This online course will run from June 21 through July 28, 2021.

In order to earn PLUs, you must register for each module you wish to complete.  You will receive four (4) PLUs for Module 1 and four (4) PLUs for each additional module you complete.

When can I get started?

The course materials will be made available on June 21, 2021. The course starts on June 21 and ends on July 18 , 2021. Once you’ve successfully completed Module 1, you may engage in any or all of the remaining modules.

All assignments must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on July 18, 2021.

What does it mean to COMPLETE a module?

Each modules includes a live webinar session, required readings and associated discussion posts, a brief quiz or assignment, and additional resources. Module 4 is slightly different. After attending the webinar, participants will apply what they have learned over the course to complete an action plan for implementing evidence-based practices in their classrooms or schools. Participant will be provided with a template and resources. This will be the only required assignment for this module. We will accept Module 4 assignments until 11:59 on July 18, 2021.

Does this course include live webinars?

Yes! Each of the modules includes a one-hour synchronous session. You received the log-in information for each live session when you registered for its module. You must complete the module assignments AND attend the live webinar for each module to receive PLUs.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
