During this unprecedented time, our essential health care and government workers must have the supports they need to be able to focus on their jobs and maintain the operations of critical services as part of our citywide response to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Mayor Bowser and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) have launched a special initiative to support the child care needs of our essential health care and government workforces. In partnership with licensed child care and out-of-school time providers, we have stood up emergency child care facilities across the city to help ensure essential health care and government workers have access to safe and affordable child care as we work together in response to (COVID-19).
Children aged 6 weeks to 12 years without serious medical conditions such as severe asthma, chronic lung disease, heart disease, immunocompromise, and primary immunodeficiency are eligible to participate.
If you are engaged in essential health care operations or government functions as defined in the Mayor’s Executive Order on March 24, 2020, please complete the form on the next page, and our child care resource and referral partner, DC Child Care Connections, will be in touch with you shortly to help you find a seat that meets your needs.
