The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is the leading authority on energy and environmental issues affecting the District of Columbia. Using a combination of regulations, outreach, education, and incentives, our agency administers programs and services to fulfill our mission. We work collaboratively with other government agencies, residents, businesses, and institutions to promote environmentally responsible behavior that will lead to a more sustainable urban environment.
When you first arrive at DOEE, HR will conduct a short orientation.
The District of Columbia Government began modifying its operations starting Monday, March 16, in order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Along with the rest of District government, our agency remains open. We have been directed to telework. This means all staff must work remotely, except in limited cases where essential staff must report to work at the discretion of the Director. This modified schedule is now in effect through May 15, 2020.
When you arrive, your workstation should be set up and ready to go. Your manager will provide you with your login information. If this is not the case, please contact your manager or IT. After you've logged in, complete the following tasks:

Your manager will introduce you to your DOEE Buddy (.pdf), another employee who will help you get settled in and set up for success. They can help you with the following:

Your manager or fellow staff will introduce you to the tools and technology used in your program. This may include any of the following:

The finance department at DOEE oversees and supervises agency financial and budgetary functions. The finance department falls under the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.

The performance planning phase is a formalized process for identifying and communicating the organizational, agency, and individual goals expected of the employee. The Performance Plan consists of performance expectations (i.e. Competencies and S.M.A.R.T Goals) and an Individual Development Plan.
Within your first 30 days, meet with your manager to develop and enter performance expectations and objectives into PeopleSoft ESS. You may find it helpful to take notes during your first month as you begin to understand your roles and responsibilities.
